Subject: NOTE TO ALL OL BATCH REPRESENTATIVES: Discussion on Proposed
Draft of OLA MoA and Bylaws
To:
Dear Batch Representatives of all batches of LSL,
(PLEASE FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO ALL PEOPLE IN YOUR BATCH)
Over the past two months, there have been discussions on the OldLaws
Forum regarding the Memorandum of Association and Bylaws governing the
Old Lawrencian Association (OLA). Many OLs have expressed a desire to
re - draft the existing documents and create a new MoA and Bylaws for
the OLA so as to make the OLA more relevant to OL's today and permit
greater involvement from the global OL community.
please see: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/
The OLA President, Mr. MSP Senthikumar, on 8th January, 2011, in an
e-mail, asked all OL's to send in their suggestions / comments so as
to formulate a new draft document.
please see: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/
As a result, a new proposed draft was drawn up by a multi-generational
group of OL's - Joseph Thomas (1957), Anil Madan (1963, Lawyer),
Mathew Anthony (1965), Yohaan John (1991), and myself (2005, Lawyer),
and submitted to the OLA President. It was also briefly perused by
Joseph (Mohan) Vellapally (Current LSL Board member, OL (1961), former
LSL Parent, and currently Senior Advocate in the Supreme Court,
Delhi). The President then released the document to the OL community
to view and discuss.
please see: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/
He has requested that I set up the process for collecting comments and
opinions, and prepare the final draft by Feb 15, 2011 after taking all
your comments into consideration in the hope that it can be voted in
at the next OLA AGM (during Founders 2011). Please find attached the
PDF of the proposed new MoA and Bylaws, it is also available at:
http://bit.ly/gb47YQ
To post your comments / suggestions on the document, please click on:
https://spreadsheets.google.
These links above have also been posted on the main page of the
Oldlaws Forum, as well as in the footer of all forum emails, for ease
of access. All fields of the form will need to be filled in for
comments to be registered, and responses will automatically populate a
Google Docs spreadsheet.
Every clause / article has been given serious thought / consideration
with the hope that this new document will usher in much-needed change
to the OLA. Please request your respective batches to read the
document, especially the first Summary of Key Changes page, and share
their comments and opinions for us to consider for the FINAL draft of
this document.
Thanks & best regards,
Anusha Ramanathan (2005)
PS: In order for the process to have good transparency, you may wish
to follow along by viewing the backend spreadsheet (READ-ONLY) at the
